It's Almost My Birthday, Bitches! Start Planning!

My 24th birthday is this Sunday. My friends aren't going to be around this weekend, so to celebrate CK, Steph, and I went to Chicago Saturday night.

We were supposed to stay with a friend of a friend of CK's, but it fell through. Luckily, there are some perks to doing two jobs. One of those perks is getting Marriott rewards points, and from my two trips to NYC in recent months I had enough points to get us a free room. Score!

We were supposed to leave Saturday around 1:00 but the girls were hung over from the night before so we didn't end up leaving until close to 3:00. We got into our hotel and I was definitely ready for some drinks at that point. We ended up going to Rockit for drinks and appetizers, where I proceeded to to get tipsy.

After Rockit we went back to the hotel to get ready and then headed out for dinner at Cafe Ba Ba Reeba. We had reservations for 9:30 but their computers were down and our reservation was pushed back an hour. We left and walked to a little Italian wine bar instead.

Next we took a cab to the bar Assistant works at on the weekends. We took lots of shots and had a really good time. CK had on a pair of liquid leggings and two guys were petting her legs and saying she looked like Cat-woman. Steph got asked out, while wearing her ring from her boyfriend on her left hand. I kept having to make small talk with one of Assistant's regulars. We got to dance a lot to really good music. It was a really good time.

Finally we made it to Rino. There weren't many people there for a Saturday night, so it was kind of disappointing. The guy at the door tried to get us to pay $10 each to get in. We proceeded to tell him we don't pay to get into clubs, but he didn't listen. Steph shammied for it and she lost, but he let us in for $20 for the three of us. We were pissed when we walked in and it was pretty empty. Kind of a bust.

We left after an hour and went back to the hotel. We were in bed at 3:00, early for a Saturday night in Chicago.

The next morning we went to Yolk for brunch, took pictures with The Bean, and went shopping on Michigan Avenue. It was a nice, much needed time with the girls. I will try to put up pictures soon.

I'm not really looking forward to my birthday this weekend. I feel like it is going to be uneventful. None of my family will be here, and I already celebrated with my friends. Victoria is sending me a package, which I am very excited about, and I bought myself a new iPod, which arrived today. That just leaves celebrating with the BF.

We are at somewhat at a turning point right now. I really want to have a good birthday, but I'm not expecting anything. There is only one thing I want from him, and I don't expect to get it.

All in all, I think I am where I expected to be at 24. I am done with college, living in my own place, I have started my career, I am in love. It would be nice if the person I am in love with was in love with me also, but I guess it can't all be perfect.

MMandy: The weekend was much neeed for sure! I got the new Nano (I lost my old one - oops!) in red. There are a lot of colors to choose from, but I liked that part of the money I spent went to Project Red.

Trixie: Thank you! The iPod is AWESOME. It's the new nano. It creates playlists for you based on the music in your library, you can shuffle songs by shaking it, and turn it sideways to flip through album art. SA-WEET

hotpinksox: Maybe I already did...:D

Andy: Thank you! I think I really AM getting all of my wishes!!

Anon: True. It was meant to be sarcastic, though, so I hope you took it as such!

Happy 24th, Coco!! :)

Perhaps there's a way that your boyfriend could be made to fall in love with you. I'll do some research and get back to you.
