"I love you, too."
It was a total shock to hear it and a wonderfully pleasant surprise. I literally felt a wave of shock go from the top of my head to the tip of my toes. After so many months of playing out that moment in my mind, (When would it be? Where would it happen? Would it happen? How would I feel? What would I say?) I was rendered utterly speechless.
I'm so happy, and it was definitely worth the wait to feel the way I do now.
It does spark all kinds of new thoughts and feelings and confusions, but for now I'm just going to roll in it.
I got the one thing I wanted for my birthday, after all!!

Is he pissed he didn't get to say it first, or am I the only idiot who thinks the guys should say it first. I'm not a sexist, I swear.
I did a blog about it, saying it was a friend that had it happen to him, but it was me. Good thing I didn't say it was me because I got a firestorm of responses saying what a backwards idiot my friend is.
Well, I think I learned the error of my ways and that I'm an idiot for thinking that, so congrats regardless who said it first. You're in love and being loved, and that's a good thing.
Dr. Ken: I actually agree with you about the guy saying it first, but this time I said it first, 7 months ago. I just really wanted him to know how I felt, so I sucked it up and said it first. But then I had to endure the agonizing 7 months of wondering if he would ever say it back.
Haha, I totally thought it really was a friend, not you, when I read that post! Well, I'm glad that you are also in love and that everything worked out. In your situation, you were trying to find the right time to say it and she beat you to the punch. My situation was a little different, but everything worked out ok, so I guess it doesn't matter.
